Candidates for the Board of the Kiwi Club for 2018
Warrick Bell: Hailing from Hamilton (before it was The ‘Tron), I worked for the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in Auckland for six years before moving to Staten Island in 1996 and marrying Catherine from Colorado. I’m now ostensibly respectable and responsible, and work in the administration of one of NYC’s public universities. I’ve been a member of the Kiwi Club almost since I arrived in the US, and a Board member since 2011. My interests include photography, writing, motorcycling, reading, hiking and music.
Jenny Chen: I was born and raised in the Big Apple but also lived in Connecticut and Philadelphia before heading to Dunedin, New Zealand in 2011 to study at the University of Otago. I loved every minute and after having a “sweet-as” time, I returned to the US having left a part of me there. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, hiking, and trying new foods. I love traveling and can often be found planning my next adventure.
Dave Goodison: Born and bred in Auckland (yes, Just Another Fabulous Aucklander) I made the move (with my wife Angela) to New York in about 2012. I have been a Kiwi Club member since we arrived and you can usually find me at the drinks night each month. I am Musical Director and Guitarist for NZ artist Gin Wigmore and Tour Manager for New York band The Reign of Kindo. Music is my passion and focus in life but I also worked in the digital media industry back in NZ. A keen cricketer, I am a member of the Mad Dogs cricket team and I have played in three of the Aussie v Kiwi cricket matches. I’m a resident of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Jane Wong: I was born in Wellington and lived there for 29 years before heading to the States. My better half is a seldom-found native from NYC, and the reason we are here. A city employee, I work on the mainframe computer that runs the welfare system for the state of New York. I also walk dogs as a volunteer for the Sean Casey animal rescue in Kensington, Brooklyn. In my spare time I play World of Warcraft, and have also been a quilter for a number of years.
