August’s pub night is an extra special event so don’t miss out!
We welcome all of those from the broader Kiwi community to come to August’s pub night at Nelson Blue in downtown Manhattan. Not only is it a terrific opportunity to support a great Kiwi bar and restaurant, but there are two announcements: the arrival of the New Zealand Consul General to New York, and the re-launch of the Kiwi Club of New York website.
Peta Conn arrives this weekend to be New York’s new Consul General at the New Zealand Consulate, and she will be coming along to Nelson Blue on Wednesday evening. Since she is our “Hail Mary” phone call if any of us gets in serious trouble, come along and meet her, and lay the groundwork so that she answers your call. Let’s give her a great local welcome!
In addition, the Kiwi Club is refreshing the website as “New Zealanders in New York”. We all know first, second, or third-hand what is going on around this great city, and we are looking to have a forum where you can get and give information, opinion and tips on things you like. This may be anything from where you can watch the next Rugby game, some great music acts coming up, advice on visas, through where to shop for NZ products in New York. This works best if everyone gets involved, so come along, enjoy a drink with some kiwis and get involved.
Thursday August 8th is also the last chance to get the early bird discount prices for the picnic. Tickets will be available for purchase at the pub night if you haven’t already purchased yours.
We look forward to seeing you there, and please pass this on to your kiwi mates!
