Annual Kiwi Summer Picnic 2017

-- Date/Time
Date(s) - Sunday, August 13
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Ridge Road Park

The lamb and the sausages are ordered, the gear is booked and set to be delivered, the Kiwi goodies are set up in their baskets… everything is lined for our annual Kiwi extravaganza at Pavilion One of beautiful Ridge Road Park in Westchester County.  BBQ lamb, sausages (and vegetarian options), prizes, giveaways, kiwi music, and general kiwi fun in the sun in a glorious setting just north of the city.  It’s an ideal family outing, or just an opportunity to hang out with some fellow NZers.

Gumboot toss!  Lolly scramble!  Tug-o-War!  Sausages on white bread with Wattie’s!  What more could you want from a Kiwi event??!

Be sure to bring your friends — any non-Kiwis are called upon to help the poor South Island round up enough people to field a team for the Ramfurry Shield tug-o-war between the islands.

The site is easily accessible via Metro North to the Hartsdale station, at just one hour from Grand Central.  The Club runs a shuttle from the station to the picnic site, so please drop us a line at if you would like us to pick you up.  If you’re taking the train,  the Harlem line Metro North train leaves Grand Central at 11:24 and arrives at Hartsdale at 12:15, which is the recommended one to catch.  There’s another one leaving at 11:54 and arriving 12:37 which we also plan to meet.  Please remember to use the pedestrian bridge to cross over the tracks to the town side of the station after you disembark the train.  Look for a black Land Rover with a silver fern on the door.

Ticket prices include plenty of kai and entry in the raffles for Kiwi goodies and gift certificates.  Water is available on-site but please remember to bring anything else that you’d like to drink.

And as always, everyone gets a chance to grab a few handfuls in the grand finale lolly scramble!
