About Us

The Kiwi Club of New York Inc. brings together Kiwis and others in the NY-NJ-CT tri-state area.  Anyone can be a member – whether you’re a Kiwi, know a Kiwi or are otherwise interested in New Zealand.

What does the Club do?

  • We hold many social events throughout the year.  The largest event is the annual summer picnic, which features lots of Kiwi food and games (including a gumboot toss, North Island vs.South Island tug of war, a lolly scramble, and games for the kids).  We also organize a Christmas party, hold monthly pub nights, and offer a variety of other events.   Members usually receive a discounted price for any event with an admission fee.
  • We are closely connected with other New Zealand organizations in New York, including the New Zealand Consulate, and help publicize matters of interest to Kiwis.  If you’re on our mailing list you’ll hear about the annual ANZAC commemorative services, visiting Kiwi artists and performers, New Zealand-related sporting events, and how to vote from overseas at election time.
  • Where appropriate, we work with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and local New Zealand businesses to support Kiwi products and enterprises in New York.

The Club is a longstanding part of the Kiwi community in New York.  It was founded in the 1980s, and became the Kiwi Club of New York Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, in 1994.
